Louise Le Hir
September 14 @ 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Louise brings her own unique blend of French psych-pop influenced Americana.
From Tucson via Las Vegas and other points on the endless American highway comes Louise Le Hir. Armed with a stack of bittersweet songs, an acoustic guitar and a smoky, whiskey voice that resonates where the lower meets the mid register, Louise Le Hir’s work is simultaneously low-key and intense.
Perhaps you remember Louise from her Las Vegas-based psych band The Pandas; perhaps you don’t. But that creative electric impulse that ran through her previous band still runs through her material, but in a much more muted, eyes wide open sort of way. Le Hir’s bloodline starts with a French mother and an American father, and a DNA pre-history that includes stops in Berlin and Copenhagen, where she was conceived. After some challenging sections of her own person highway, and some inspiration via the work of that eternal North American road dog Neil Young, Louise Le Hir has plenty to write about and the voice to convey it.
